Distinctive Investment Philosophy
DoubleDividend has a distinctive investment philosophy that prioritizes quality, sustainability, and a long-term focus. Within DoubleDividend’s investment philosophy, financial and sustainability aspects reinforce one another and are part of a single, integrated analysis. Responsible investing means investing in companies with the goal of achieving both financial and social returns.
Based on their own ESG analysis, the DD Funds invest in companies that capitalize on opportunities, offer solutions, and—through their production processes, products, and/or services—have a positive impact on one of the challenges identified by DoubleDividend: climate, ecosystems, and well-being.
Climate

Global warming caused byCO2 emissions increases the risk of extreme weather events (droughts, floods, wildfires) and has significant consequences for, among other things, global food security, well-being, and safety.
Ecosystems

Ecosystem degradation leads to pollution, shortages of key raw materials, and loss of biodiversity as a result of polluting and unnecessarily resource-intensive business processes, deforestation, and overfishing.
Well-being

Well-being relates to public health, poverty and malnutrition, inadequate education, gender inequality, the quality of health care, workplace inequality, and corruption.
This is how we align sustainability with our investment philosophy
Quality and sustainability are central to building a resilient portfolio focused on the long term. In our view, sustainable companies and themes not only deliver social value but also contribute to a healthy risk-return profile. Companies selected for the DD Funds must meet the DoubleDividend “five-point criteria.”

ESG Integration1 and the Sustainable Development Goals
The seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can be categorized under the three global challenges identified by DoubleDividend above. The SDGs are part of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and, in our view, serve as a solid foundation for a broad sustainability agenda. Because of this focus, the SDGs have been incorporated into our sustainability analysis.
1 ESG stands for: environmental, social, and corporate governance aspects.
